SCREENPRINT: REAPER MADNESS

So my good pal <a href="http://www.lachlanbruce.com" target="_new">Lachlan Bruce and I went along to <a href="http://www.arcadescreenprinting.com.au" target="_new">Arcade Screenprinting last weekend.&nbsp;
There we took part in one of their super-rad 'Screenprinting For Beginners' classes.&nbsp;

Over the course of the day, we covered most aspects of screenprinting.
From printing, picking and making our own screens, to pulling inks and drying.
I feel like my knowledge (and confidence) in screenprinting is much higher than before.

Part of the class requires you &quot;bring some artwork' ... so I scanned a sketchbook page.
Taking the grim-reaper result and giving it the vector love and affection it deserved.
Here are some photos from the day ... A3 screenprints available form my <a href="./store.cfm" target="_new">store.

SYDNEY ZOMBIE WALK: 2013 POSTER

The Sydney Zombie Walk is an amazing, incredible and f**ing awesome event.
Thousands of blood-coated brain-hungry zombies walk through the city of Sydney.
And I was lucky enough to do the poster-art for this year's creepy walk.

To register for the walk, go to:&nbsp;<a href="http://www.sydneyzombiewalk.com" target="_new">www.sydneyzombiewalk.com

For April we have the bubble-blowing weirdo and May is a good ol shouting stresshead of doom.
Both were hand-drawn ... scanned then vectorised using what the kids are calling&nbsp;<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer" target="_new">a computer.

EDEN MEURE'S PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS-CARDS

Kickass photographer Eden Meure recently contacted me regarding some business-card art.
With a mutual love for old-school Nickelodeon cartoons ... we set off sketching and landed on a cute caricature.
Really happy with how it came out, the colours, the freckles... it all came into place and another happy customer.

It was a dark and stormy night, not a peep could be hurt not a single soul in sight.&nbsp;
On Sindy's computer ... an email arrived, from beeeyyyyoooon the graaaaave.

Wait a minute, that's not how it happened.
It's Zach Smith, Host and Lead Investigator of Illinois (US) based ghost-hunters Afterlife Sessions.&nbsp;
He needed a super-sweet shirt illustration that represented the spooky work these brave men do.

So here we have the colour and black and white versions of the artwork.&nbsp;
To checkout more of what these guys do, jump onto their site:<a href="http:// www.afterlifesessions.com" target="_new">&nbsp;www.afterlifesessions.com

BASTARDIZER: BRUTAL BLACK-METAL ARTWORK

Brutal black metal band <a href="http://www.facebook.com/bastardizer666" target="_new">BASTARDIZER got in touch with me for some brutal artwork.
They required a dirty evil baphomet and their band name illustrated for a range of merchandise.&nbsp;
So I cranked up some Bathory, postponed a church-burning and whipped up some satanic-art.

Photos of the final shirts and posters are coming soon.&nbsp;

PIETER VAN DEN HOOGEN BAND: ILLUSTRATED TYPOGRAPHY

So here's a little-known fact ... I'm also a drummer.&nbsp;Always have been and always will be.&nbsp;
I recently did some illustratred typography for one of my newer bands, <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pvdhb" target="_new">The Pieter Van Den Hoogenband.

With lots of shows on the horizon, including the recording of a debut CD release... it became art-time.&nbsp;
So I cracked open the crayons and got sketching on some typographical font-fighting logo-mania.

THE BITTER SWEETHEARTS: ILLUSTRATED CD COVER / LOGO

I was approached by Sydney band <a href="http://www.facebook.com/TheBitterSweethearts" target="_new">The Bitter Sweethearts to create an illustrated logo.
They wanted guitars and hearts to be used as a cover for their debut EP, 'THEIR BEST YET'.&nbsp;

Really excited to wrap my hands around their best yet when it's sealed and ready. &nbsp;
The launch date is set for Friday the 15th of February at none other than The Square.&nbsp;

MAD DOG CYCLES LOGO

One of my first projects to kick off 2013, was an illustrated logo for MAD DOG CYCLES.
These guys have grease running through their veins, they live and breathe custom motorcycles.&nbsp;
Can't wait to get my hands on some tshirts, stickers and swag from these guys.

I've put a rundown of my process for this illustration on my new <a href="./process.cfm" target="_new">PROCESS BLOG.
I am an illustrator who is OBSESSED with process. I'm at my happiest when creating.&nbsp;
So it's been a long time coming but I've finally opened the door to me sharing my ways.&nbsp;

BEACH BURRITO COMPANY: 'BONEHEAD' EXHIBITION

To celebrate another year, I put skulls on the walls of Newtown's Beach Burrito Co.&nbsp;
It was there for all of January&hellip; my 'BONEHEADS' exhibition, cause it's ALL SKULLS!&nbsp;

Sixteen hand-tortured skull-tastic creations. There're brand-new, full-colour and A3... AND completely sold-out.
Thanks to everyone that got their butts outta the house to chow-down on burritos and picked up your favourite skulls.

RED SHIP STUDIOS: ILLUSTRATED LOGO

I feel like I'm a lucky guy. I have really talented friends and clients.&nbsp;
Recently I made good-pals with some amazing people on the other side of the world.&nbsp;
Canadian boardgame creators <a href="http://www.redshipstudios.com" target="_new">RED SHIP STUDIOS got in touch with me regarding an illustrated logo.

They're a great bunch of guys, super nice and I can't wait to do more stuff with them in the future.
Below you can see the final illustrated logo, along with both coloured and uncoloured concept-sketches.

I was also asked to illustrate the three great minds of Red Ship Studios.
They are; Jonathon the warrior, Robbie the wizard and Marco the archer.
You can see below how they were clevely illustrated fighting-off a dragon!

THREE LEGGED LAB LOGO

Just recently, my bloody-great hairy and handsome friend Daniel Coolahan shot me an email.
He was setting up his own film production business, 'THREE LEGGED LAB'. Exciting times.
And the first thing on the agenda was getting some logo artwork together. Artwork. Pronto.

With a love for Bolex cameras, old-school surf-art and native culture... we got to work.
Daniel cleverly named the business as a tribute to his loved three-legged labradour Buster.&nbsp;

Here's the final artwork we both agreed on liking... along with some work in progress shots.
I suspect we'll be hearingmore from Three Legged Lab ... expecting to see super-cool shit soon!

THE HEAVIES: CHRISTMAS POSTER

Old-time pals <a href="http://www.facebook.com/TheHeaviesAU" target="_new">The Heavies got in touch for a Christmas poster... wanting something &quot;christmasie&quot;.
They didn't mind if it was a little rude and if it depicted how stinking hot it's getting (here in Australia).
So here it is. Some jolly fat-man christmas action... Merry Christmas everybody.

THE SQUARE: MONTHLY ILLUSTRATED POSTERS

Towards the end of 2012, I began doing more and more out of house work for <a href="http://www.sydneyposters.com/" target="_new">Sydney Posters.&nbsp;
They have some great deals on poster printing and (particularly) Sydney-wide distribution.&nbsp;

One job that I was happy to see come through, was the illustration of monthly posters for The Square.
For those that don't know... <a href="http://www.facebook.com/thesquaresydney" target="_new">The Square is a rad little venue in the guts of the city. It's a rad place to drink.&nbsp;
So below are the posters I illustrated for the months of November and December.&nbsp;

BRAINS WILL SPILL

On Sunday November 25th (2012) the Secret Walls crew were let loose on the Oxford Arts Factory walls.&nbsp;The gallery room has been a victim to some very impressive mural-work over the years. This time it was our turn...

Working with the theme 'PAINT WILL SPILL', artist Luke Okay and I teamed up on a 'BRAINS WILL SPILL' piece. Taking a character I had floating around my sketchbook, we spent the afternoon working on the 6 metre high monster.

Below is a shot from the work in progress, the final wall and one of Luke and I enjoying a hard-earned beer.&nbsp;

BAD GARAGE LOGO, DOOMSDAY RUN & HAND-PAINTED HELMET

I recently had the pleasure of illustrating a logo for my friend Troy White's motorbike chop-shop, <a href="http://www.facebook.com/BadGarage" target="_new">BAD GARAGE.&nbsp;
The guys he works and rides with are the types of guys who sleep in the dirt on the side of the road.&nbsp;
Truely obsessed and dedicated bike-coulture. Old-school bikes with an old-school approach to match.

November 24th and 25th (2012) marked the first of many to come, annual <a href="http://www.facebook.com/DoomsdayRun" target="_new">DOOMSDAY RUN.&nbsp;
Which not only did I illustrate the poster for, but I handpainted a bike-helmet as a prize-giveaway.&nbsp;
