NEW YORK: CHILOS 2 (GREENWOOD HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN)
In June 2019 I went back to New York, to help smash out some mural work for Chilo’s second venue. In Greenwood Heights Brooklyn, I spent the week working on a rad motorcycle-skeleton… surrounded by the building-site and an army of builders (you can see the lighting and cables everywhere in the photos).
Super excited to work with the Chilos team again. If you’re ever in New York, check out their other venue in Bed Stuy.
LOS ANGELES: SLIPPER CLUTCH COCKTAIL BAR MURAL
In October 2019 I headed over to Los Angeles to paint a rad as fuck dive-bar Slipper Clutch. Located in Downtown LA, it’s hidden behind the Stretto Bros sandwich shop and classic americana Bar Clacson. Filled with neon signs, punk rock posters and loads of amazing whiskeys, I was in dive-bar heaven.
The concept for this one was to cover three wallspaces.
The main area to get a tiger jumping through a flaming-hoop.
This had to be high enough to tower over occasional tables and gaming machines. The entrance to the bar, which is at the bottom of some scabby steps.
This is to draw attention to the upstairs area, which is otherwise pretty hidden. The side-wall of the upstairs bar. Something rad to be in the background of drunken-selfies.
YOUNG HENRYS X CROWBAR: LEMMY BEER-GARDEN MURAL
In February 2019 I was stoked to be painting at Crowbar, a fucking rad live-music bar in Leichardt Sydney. And when Young Henrys teamed up with them, we decided to celebrate with a killer Lemmy mural in the beer-garden. We’ve done Lemmy-stuff together in past, but I dig this one doing his “shoot the crowd” pose and how the flames and skulls fill out the space.
The days I painted this were over 40’C … so much sweat. Luckily the Dulux Weathershield I used will stand up again the extreme Australian sun. Hopefully we’ll get to see this design across some Crowbar merch and other fun stuff soon.
JAMESON X THE LANSDOWNE MURAL
Painted in August 2019, this mural was a collaboration between Jameson and The Lansdowne. The artwork features a stacked pile of roses, guitars and whiskey bottles. It’s located upstairs at The Lansdowne, next to the 300 person live-music room. I grew up seeing bands play here, super-honoured to have some killer artwork up there.

NEW YORK: CHILOS MURAL (BED STUY, BROOKLYN)
October 2018 I head over to Brooklyn, New York working with tequila and taco bar CHILOS.
Their beer-garden had a big boring space needing a touch of love. Over three days I smashed out a rad motorcycle-skeleton running away from a UFO. They wanted to keep it quirky and loved the way I painted motorcycles. Was super fun working with the Chilos-crew and I can’t wait to get back over there for a couple mezcals with them again.
THE DUKE: YOUNG HENRYS MOTORCYCLE MURAL
Painted in July 2019 on the side of The Duke, Enmore. This one was important to me because I literally have to walk past it everyday (on the way to the studio) and didn’t want to stuff it up. Done for Young Henrys to celebrate the pub’s new owners and renovations. A massive motorcycle-skeleton with loads of flames and speed.
The walkway and road were wonky with this one. I couldn’t get a ladder to sit straight / safely, so I painted this entirely with a paintbrush from the ground… using my brush-on-a-stick trick. It’s not perfect (or good for your neck) but it gets it done.
SOL INVICTUS MOTORCYCLE CO: WATERLOO MURAL
In September 2019 I painted the front walls of Sol Invictus’s new showroom in Waterloo.
The brief was to reinterpret / reimagine their existing tyre-boy artwork. With massive oldschool lettering to draw attention to the building and entrance. The wall is about 12m high and wraps around the corner. Was a hot few days painting this one.
The approved sketch. Note: The original tyre-boy illustration was done by InkBoy, this is my interpretation / version of him.
BASEMENT BAR: DIMEBAG MURAL, CANBERRA
In April 2019 I painted this rad Dimebag Darrell mural at heavy-metal venue Basement Bar, Canberra. A project done with Young Henrys, it stands out bold in the beer-garden. Painted a week before Phil Anselmo came through on tour with King Parrot.
MAVERICK INDUSTRIES: MARRICKVILLE MURAL
Painted in February 2019 is this cool industrial-friendly bull-mural for Maverick Industries. In their Marrickville factory, they wanted something to brighten up the cement wall leading up to their offices. Love how this one came out.
ACCENTURE MELBOURNE: 40 METRE WORKSPACE MURAL
In September 2017, I worked with Fortune 500 company Accenture on some artwork for their Melbourne office. The brief was to create something that could wrap across the 40 metre wall behind their core workspace. Located on 161 Collins Street, smack bang in the middle of the Melbourne CBD. And I must credit Art Pharmacy, who did an incredible job organising and curating the artwork through the entire worksite.
The artwork is massive, and the photos don’t really do it justice, but I’ve done my best to capture it.
NOT FOR NOTHING TATTOO STUDIO: UPPER MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY
October 2018 I was approached by the legends at Not For Nothing Tattoo in Upper Manhattan NYC about painting the entry-way to their tattoo-studio. They dug the idea of a reaper welcoming (or cursing) people as they came in. Their entrance was just a plain colour, so this was a good way to make the studio look colourful, creative and catch some extra attention. it was a tight squeeze in there, luckily the artwork leant itself to some freehand flames and stars wrapping around the handrails etc.
Here’s a couple quick process shots I got of the project while I was there.
PIXELS AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT: WAREHOUSE MURAL AT TDC
In July 2017, I was asked by TDC (Technical Direction Company) to design and paint a mural for their warehouse. Their focus is on lighting, projection and all those big-screens you see at festivals etc. The brief for the mural was something that incorporated “light” as well as something kindass badass that represents their brand… and after showing them a couple sketches, they got excited by a skeleton on a motorcycle. The box (shown on the sketch) is where they wanted to mount a big oldschool projector.
Being a warehouse full of projectors, they set me up a massive projector with the design loaded. And with a remote-control I could turn it off and on as needed. We also attached a couple GoPros around the room and also got a bit of a timelapse.
HIGH TEE: SCREENPRINT WORKSHOP MELBOURNE
In January 2018, I helped Melbourne legends HIGH TEE SCREENPRINTING with their massive new factory walls. With a weekend window-of-opportunity while they were out of town (at an LA convention), I smash smash smashed the walls with a big abstract pattern of radness across their walls. The goal was to section off each zone, rather than attack it with one big piece. The photos don’t quite do the size justice, but there were some hairy moments on that ladder.
YOUNG HENRYS BREWERY: KISSING BEERS MURAL
November 20th, 2016. I painted (with spray paint, which I don’t normally do) these cute as fuck kissing beers at the Young Henrys brewery Newtown. And now they’re in the background of all your beer-selfies. These designs are also available as lapel pins.
COMMUNE: MINI-VAN MURAL
Ok so it’s not reeeeallllly a mural, but it kinda counts. In May 2018 I hand-painted this cool little mini-van (a Suzuki Carry) live for an event at The Commune Waterloo. They use it to get around the huge warehouse event-space, and it’s cute as a button. And now it’s got a huge wolf on both sides of it.
Posing tough with Shannon McKinnen of Aisle6ix Industries.
YOUNG HENRYS; ‘BEER RUN’ ROLLER-DOOR MURAL
In May 2019 I painted the front roller-door for Young Henrys.
As part of an event called Radapalooza, for the Yeah Rad guys that share my Snake Eyes Studio space.
For the record, painting roller-doors is really difficult and annoying and takes ages. But we bloody did it.
