LOS ANGELES: SLIPPER CLUTCH MURALS

In October 2019 I headed over to Los Angeles to paint a rad as fuck dive-bar Slipper Clutch. Located in Downtown LA, it’s hidden behind the Stretto Bros sandwich shop and classic americana Bar Clacson. Filled with neon signs, punk rock posters and loads of amazing whiskeys, I was in dive-bar heaven.

The concept for this one was to cover three wallspaces.

  • The main area to get a tiger jumping through a flaming-hoop.
This had to be high enough to tower over occasional tables and gaming machines.

  • The entrance to the bar, which is at the bottom of some scabby steps.
This is to draw attention to the upstairs area, which is otherwise pretty hidden.

  • The side-wall of the upstairs bar. Something rad to be in the background of drunken-selfies.
